Getting started is always the hardest

The first challenge in anything and especially running is getting started. For running in the morning, as I do, it’s getting out of bed. There is a moment zero — that point where you make the final final decision to do it. Once I make that decision and I step out and get ready I’ve already conquered half the battle.

To run well you need good sleep. Feeling tired in the morning is usually a big hindrance to getting going. As such, you want to make sure you get a good night sleep before going for a run. I use an alarm to set bed time and force myself to get into bed. Most of the time I’m snoozing within 15 mins.

The morale here is that to get started you have to address the thing(s) that could make your decision to get started more difficult. I think this applies to all things in life and business.
